That was not my intention. I just got the impression there's going to
be a few
million questions following similar "thread"s and couldn't help
myself pointing out that it actually requires some work to learn, and
that "self study and research" could actually be more rewarding at
some point instead of expecting answers on a plate B-)

I guess I've posted my message without further self-examination and
perhaps too hastily, but I do daily have to be polite to IT managers
who don't have a clue about things like: "what's SMTP?" and and then
these "professionals" try to tell their admins - who could build mail
servers in their dreams, propably - how to configure their machines,
again having no real knowledge what they're actually talking about...
I thought firewalls list might not be the place
for these thingies.

All this bloke has to do to get started is to go somewhere alike
altavista and spend two minutes learning how to make searches. If he
doesn't even bother to type his "keywords" to a search engine before
posting them to any mailing list, I really can't be bothered to help
him. I'm sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but that's the way I
see things.
I also do not claim to know or understand anything that someone else
doesn't propably know and understand better...

Please do not hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong - as you do - since
I am rather new to this mailing list myself, and as someone somewhere
said: "No-one's perfect!"

Now, back to firewalls, shall we... =-)

Cheers,
