I suppose it depends on what your needs are. I have a big problem with using
an OS to build a firewall with. Why? Because it is not a REAL-TIME running OS
like that of Netscreen and Cisco PIX. Too many side effects and you need to
harden the system also.

Are you using NT as the platform?
I dont and still do not beleive that an OS built for end users should be used
to protect a network. It just wasnt made for it. And the amount of REBOOTS
you will need to make everytime you make changes and Blue Screen of Deaths
will make you go AWOL.
I have spent many hours with Raptor Engineer's to try to setup Raptor the way
my company needed it done, and it just wasn't as scalable. And they could not
get it working, so that is how I lost my faith in using OS's as a FW.
