I have try the trust with the same situation and it has work.
You should check the process of name resolution instead of think in Internet
Explorer. The other thing is what service pack are you using?. Most of the
problems with NT are solve using the latest service packs and patches.

Hi All,
Does anybody have know why NT domains cannot setup a trust relationship when
1 pdc has IE 5.5 installed and the other has IE 5.0 installed. From the
IE5.0 pdc I cannot ping the other by name. If I downgrade the IE5.5 box to
IE5.0 the trust relationship works just fine.
