Obviously, as self-styled maintainer of the Fedora Core RPMs for
FlightGear, I've got the SRPMs to go with them. I notice that the
FlightGear website (and mirrors) don't have a section for packaged
sources, just the raw tarballs.
Might it not be a good idea to have an SRPMs section (and probably the
equivalent for .deb package sources).
Doing so would make it a lot easier for first-timers to get involved at
source level. For instance, FC2 people could compile their own
FlightGear-with-SDL (not available on the binary downloads page) even if
the idea of working from the tarballs daunts them. Heck, maybe some
people just want to see how I did the RPMs - maybe even show me
improvements.
Whatever, it seems wrong that I keep the SRPMs "secret" so to speak.
