This is in reply to the Barry Monson's query about pre-loading a GAP script and running it line by line. I do not know if GAP can do this by itself, but there is a posting by Alastair Donaldson on Jan 5 2006, where he describes how a Java program can interface with GAP, send it commands and get back answers. I have not tried it (yet) but it sounds like it could do what Barry Monson is asking for, since a Java program can respond to a keystroke.
