Since the release of GAP 4.5, the archive names consist of
1. the version of the GAP 'core' system, which is 4.5.5 respectively 4.5.6
in the cases you mentioned, and
2. the timestamp of the collection of packages (there are presently about 100
of them), where e.g. 2012_11_04-18_46 stands for November 4, 2012, 18:46
UTC.
