Hello, To get an overview of GAP, you may have a look at the Preface from the Reference manual http://www.gap-system.org/Manuals/doc/ref/chap1.html and also at http://www.gap-system.org/Manuals/doc/ref/chap0.html for the table of contents. Probably similar materials may be found at PARI/GP page http://pari.math.u-bordeaux.fr/ - for example, the list of areas from http://pari.math.u-bordeaux.fr/dochtml/html.stable/ - maybe someone may point out to a better source for PARI/GP. If you have some particular computations in mind and would like to check whether they are doable in GAP, please just ask. Also, there is a GAP package Alnuth <http://www.gap-system.org/Packages/alnuth.html> providing an interface from GAP to some functions from PARI/GP. Hope this helps, Alexander _______________________________________________ Forum mailing list Forum@mail.gap-system.org http://mail.gap-system.org/mailman/listinfo/forum
