The textmode ide is probably much easier because it already runs on FreeBSD. Lazarus is much harder if you want to use and support a native widget set. OTOH lazarus is a modern IDE, while the textmode uses the look and feel of an late 80s/early 90s application so if we want a real IDE, work on lazarus :)
