Hi Mechael,
I agree with what you say below, but... why recomend dos4gw and not Causeway. - I understand that you would be much more familiar with it, and - dos4gw is not free

CWSTUB is mostly bound to executables, although can be used stand-alone. dos4gw.exe stub floats free of the application EXE and -- while separate stub is typically not a preferred feature -- it works well for simple replacement here. Plenty of places you can grab dos4gw.exe by itself, or with little else. Otherwise you wind up grabbing an entire extender distribution and walking users through the mechanism, or separating the stub out and telling people where to go and what they have to do.
DOS4GW is #1 DOS extender as far as distribution, too, and way ahead of everything else in the compatible category as far as general user knowledge and accessibility. Simple matter of being there first. CauseWay is probably #3, possibly #2. Too many 32-bit compatible extenders to keep score and doesn't make much difference anymore anyway. Eric Auer's favorite DOS32A is a definite wannabe #2, but I don't think it's ahead of either PMODE/W or CauseWay. Heck, WDOSX was rising in the ranks for a while, maybe it's up in top of the list by now. They all are a lot more popular than ZRDX.
