Great. I'll fix it upstream so it'll slowly migrate into distros. I'll add an issue to come back to this sometime in the future. I'd have to / want to refactor some things to make sure this is done right.

You're right that in the long run, moving to a system similar to ipmidetectd's, where hostnames can be split up on multiple lines, would be an even better solution.
