My little understanding is that the user passwords or in the mySQL data base so radius can do CHAP authentication because of needing the clear text. They would still be added to the system files for email and the other services. If you userdel them from the system files, the mySQL database is not automatically updated to remove them. Or if you only passwd -l (lock) username the mySQL database is not automatically updated.
They would still be able to log in because the mySQL database was not updated. Or am I wrong here? I don't want to have to manually update the mySQL database.
