Well, TVtime uses mgavid or directfb, but it needs features that the Linux framebuffer doesn't provide. Also, it does a channel scan, so you don't need the station list. I don't watch live TV with my machine much, since I prefer to record the shows and watch them whenever... but tvtime worked ok for those things. Are there any other driver options for your tv out card?
