After some thinking I tend to agree with Olivier, he wants to separate
text tinting/fading from icon tinting/fading. This is what we have now
with disabled menu items, only text color is different, but not icon.
I would like to have a menu with all non-faded menu icons (or mini
application icons in case of WindowList), but text in disabled menu items
should be faded (say, by 50%). Another user may like to fade the disabled
icons too (but maybe by different value than text - 75%).

Another case. We don't know much about actual icons used, but it is safe
to apply tinting/fading to most of images to get one or another effect.
but we don't want this effect to affect text color, because text should
usually be contrast to background to be readable, and icons should not.

So it seems there are cases when tinting/fading of text should not affect
tinting/fading of icons and vice versa. Also, having operation for just
text tinting (as oposite to fading that is nice to have) is not absolutely
essential, because unlike images text has only one color that may be
simply redefined in colorset.

Regards,
Mikhael.
