Comment #2 by Benoît MINISINI: It's actually a QT bug introduced in QT 4.8 that has never been fixed. Sub-pixel anti-aliasing is disabled when drawing on an intermediate Picture or Image, which I do in the TextEditor control for speeding-up text drawing.
