Hi jeremy.

As I said before, I'm actually looking forward to even more complexity in the game, and upgrades is one way to go for this, afterall as communities get larger and people do more specialist work, finer craft items can be produced, larger houses, better cured leather, luxury goods, furniture etc.

#Eventually it'd be great to have a game where it was possible to go from 14 people,to a full blown fortress city with castle, siege engines, machine shops, well established farms and specialized industries such as glass blowing or pottery, in short grow to a real metropolis.

Beware the grue!

I like this idea, and I will keep it in mind when I brainstorm new missions.

Hi Jeremy.

one idea might be to have certain buildings locked by
upgrades, just as games like sim city have.

obviously the grander your community, the more buildings it
has, and the more settled it's people, the more stuff can be
built.

now we're getting to building monasteries and the like, i
think we're working up from village to town status, and as
such, town houses would make more sense, afterall frequently
in the 19th century you'd get a couple of families living
together in one larger house, rather than just small one
room cabin affairs that house four people.

Myself, I'd suggest either A, making certain buildings only
available at larger population sizes, or B, having other
structures such as a town hall which need to be built to
effectively show the status of the growing community and
therefore unlock another round of structures.

The same could apply to other buildings besides houses too,
either as upgrades or new buildings, like turning your
textile shop to a clothing mill, or your butchers shop to a
slaughter yard.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.
