My understanding is that Miles' clause only kicks in whenever he wins  
a NC.

So, if he wins the NC this year, he bounces to the top.

If someone else gets a higher salary after that bump, I don't think  
that Miles's salary goes up again unless he wins another NC  
subsequent to the other coach's raise.
