Get a decent regulated soldering station (e.G. Weller or Ersa). Avoid small tips. Soldering is so much easier if the tip is short and broad. Its all about heat flow. A small tip has a hard time to heat a pad connected to a ground plane. Use the largest tip that fits between the pins. 3.5mm is good for 0805 SMD parts. Don't try to solder SMD IC pins one by one. These videos demonstrate how to use surface tension to your advantage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t06malVew40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQXhny3R7lk It really works! Note the size of the tip. Get a bunch of steel wool to clean the tip when oxidized. ---<(kaimartin)>--- _______________________________________________ geda-user mailing list geda-user@moria.seul.org http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-user
