Maybe I'm getting a little conservative in my old age, but I'm not concerned about being on the bleeding edge anymore, having been cut on it too many times in the past. Perl v5.8.8 does what I need it to - chew on data. Python v2.5.2 does what I need it to - it runs Portage and is perfectly fine to teach myself the language with. The 2.6.28.7 kernel does what I need it to - not freeze when I try to shut my laptop down (okay, that's a quibble about v2.6.29 and not Gentoo). I guess what I'm trying to say is that being a minor release or two behind the times is fine with me because I can still do everything I need to do every day. - -- The Doctor [412/724/301/703] PGP: 0x807B17C1 / 7960 1CDC 85C9 0B63 8D9F DD89 3BD8 FF2B 807B 17C1 WWW: http://drwho.virtadpt.net/ Disclaimer: Speaking only for myself and not the Greys. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAko35b8ACgkQO9j/K4B7F8HyFACfaPu6sUoSnbRpZVSuRCx0+z3+ ulgAoM665POabtyi6ENhca+xw7Ext9Wu =Qq0e -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
