nope, its the prism.  the linux-wlan driver prism2_pci works fine, but
unfortunately hostap requires the use of hostap_pci module. ;/

I tracked down the hostap faq, and it talks about the unresolved characters
thing, but its solution is already how it should be, as far as I can tell.
