Try 'emerge -ep world' -- that will at the very least list for you all
of the packages in your world file.

Try 'man emerge' for more detailed listings and advanced features.

'qpkg' (app-portage/gentoolkit) can also provide detailed package
listings. Entered without parameters at the commandline, it lists
alphabetically the name (not the version) of every package installed.

Try 'man qpkg' or 'qpkg --help' for more detailed listings and advanced
features, as well.
