Are you talking about the "console" (ie, text mode only) fonts or the X ones? For the console fonts, in my rc.conf I have "lat0-16" and they are big enough for me (maybe even too big). For X, if you're using gnome or kde and their relative console program (ie, konsole and the like), they have their own config menu that allows you to change the fonts.
