I have never followed the web page Step by step before.. After looking at it, its pretty straight forward to me.. "Starting from stage 1" Would be a indication that if I am running from stage 2, to skip this step to "Starting from Stage two, continuing from 1"... I don't see how the confusion starts. I have never had any gentoo specific problems during installs...
