I disagree, when dealing with a ~x86-package it might have deep-dependencies that is also in ~x86.
I also disagree on package.keywords since it's better to test if emerge goes well and that module actually works before making any static changes regarding keywords or even USE- & FEATURES-flags for that matter.

Yes, in this case, it's probably better to use ACCEPT_KEYWORDS for its legitimate testing function (meaning, to see if the program works under those circumstances; if it doesn't then there's no harm, no foul from the emerge -C) -- just don't forget to add the static entries if it works properly.
