Define properly?
Regardless of drivers, X enforces security now. From your snippet,
when, as a user, you want to do gfx after a su, you have to -
xhost + hostname -- whatever your systems hostname is
su
source /etc/profile
glxgears (or whatever your app is)
As to ath Ati drivers explicitly, it wouldn't suproise me to see
a mini-release in a week or so fixing some forgotten things.
