I think so, but I have the global profile set up to use /var/tmp/ccache 
unless a user overrides it in their profile.

Annoyingly, portage is hard-coded to change the owner/group/permissions on 
that directory to what it expects.  As this is not world-readable, it 
makes having a global ccache (for both my development projects and portage 
compiles) a very troublesome thing.
