Hmmm...it's a little bit round about but...
1. Front end triggers error
2. PG populates table with error
3. Code looks up error in PG table ( through GeoServer or directly)
4. User is provided error

Theoretically it could work. Also with this method you could "translate"
common errors to user friendly language in the table automatically.
