"image" is java.awt.RenderedImage. "Image I/O" is javax.imageio.ImageReader /
ImageWriter implementations.
"coverage" is org.opengis.coverage.Coverage. "Coverage I/O" is CoverageReader
(or whatever name we come with) / CoverageWriter implementations.
ImageIO could be mostly independent of Geotools. Simone suggested to make it a
project totally independent of Geotools project. For now, I suggest to make it a
Geotools module since I may wish to use some Geotools classes. Later we can see
if it is worth to move this module out of Geotools.
