A Goan friend of mine is eager to compile a list of Goan nicknames(primarily
from Goans from East Africa), with, if possible, their origins.
I've offered to try and help him by publicising his request on the net, and
should be grateful if any East African Goans could come up with
names/origins
The only ones I can remember are:-
Mangem Correia (apparently after the individual was attacked by a
crocodile?)
Godgodo D'Mello (perhaps this individual was afraid of thunder?!)
Kuni D'Souza ('Firewood' D'Souza -"Kuni" is the Swahili word for
firewood)
Apologies if this sounds "unintellectual", but if any of you out there can
help this friend of mine, I'd be grateful.
