As I am reviewing the finder file, I note that HIC numbers at UNMC vary in length from 1-18 characters, with the average being 10. From GDIT's encryption instructions I read "HIC: 12 character alpha-numeric code identifying beneficiary". Per the shared finder file sql, this field is populated from the coverage_mem_list.mem_number field. Is this variation in field length typical at other sites? Will this cause any issues?
