Generally to find the value of items, one searches web sites that 
list used books such as  amazon.com and abebooks.com.  These sites 
list what a vendor is asking for the items.

However, that is not the job of the library receiving a gift.  The 
receiving library or organization should not put any monetary value on a gift.
