I would like to draw your attention to a very interesting virtual exhibition in the Israeli National Library:
The Haggadah is a Jewish religious text that sets out the order of the Passover Seder. The Haggadah is the most popular printed text after the Bible. Since the early twentieth century, along with the traditional Haggadah there was a shift to non-traditional Haggadah which uses only part of the traditional text and has many other additions. The change reflects the developments that have occurred in Jewish history, especially the shift away from tradition and penetration of new modern trends, and the return of the Jewish people from exile to his homeland. The non-traditional Haggadot also reflect the story of Israeli society and its culture. The National Library has over six hundred non-traditional Haggadot. We chose 28 Haggadot from different sectors: kibbutzim, youth movements, the Jewish Brigade, satirical Haggadot etc. The exhibition also includes a selection of videos on the kibbutz Passover ritual and the Omer ceremony, a selection of recordings of songs that are sung during the Seder and some Press Releases on Passover in the kibbutz. It is interesting to note that in recent years the Haggadah shifts back to the more traditional text .
