I would like to poll the Histo group concerning cytology specimens. The discussion has come up about when to discard a fluid after processing, and fluids that have no orders. Also, because we are a contracted service for the hospital, and are not connected to their LIS. Cytology's that are ordered do produce a requisition that sometimes does not follow the specimen, which leads to missed processing. How are others handling these two situations.
