Daryl, Okay, lets get the logs and see if anything is going on.
What step are you on again exactly? hp-setup? printing? run tail -f /var/log/messages change cups to loglevel debug, info to do it here: http://hplip.sourceforge.net/troubleshooting/printing.html (issue 2)Open both the logs in terminal and try the step again, and then post the output of the logs.

Aaron. Well, no luck. I get the exact same result. Sooooooooooooo...........I Installed 'automake' and 'sip' which were missing in my hp-check. My hp-check result now looks a little better. But gcc-c is still missing and unfindable(a person at debian users forum tells me that gcc-c does not exist). I also have a problem with PyQt which I also can not find on my system.Heres my new hp-check results... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 0.9.2) Dependency/Version Check Utility ver. 2.1 Copyright (c) 2003-6 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
