For the record, I just got a very nice call from CA Support on this
issue.  He was very helpful and stated that my option:

 2. Toss MSM 2.0.2, install latest and greatest MSM, and proceed?

was my best path. I expect I will follow his advice.

I really appreciate this proactive support from CA.
