Thanks for the solution. I am wondering, though: since I am not interested in dates in the 20th century, could I use COND=(12,3,Y2U,GE,&DATE3P-7) ? The rightmost 3 bytes of the SMF date would seem to satisfy Y2U and as long as my offset of -7 doesn't take me to a previous century I should be OK, right?
