Look at ICKDSF TRKFMT FROMRANGE(0,0) ERASEDATA CYCLES(n).  It writes a 
"special pattern" (as opposed to binary zeroes, I guess).

Maybe it's "good enough".  A company's data policy should indicate how 
good the erasure must be.
