Robert, If you're running z/VM v5.1, I'd bet on VM63896, as James suggested below. We had to triple our EREP mdisk sizes after upgrading to v5.1 due to the addition of large numbers of FXREC records. We never installed VM63896 because we'd already bit the bullet on the mdisk space and I didn't want to IPL again so soon (and then forgot about it) but I presume VM63896 will resolve or reduce the magnitude of the problem.
These records were generated on behalf of a new product, called xDR-Lite that I've still never heard of outside the scope of this problem; see APAR II14027 for more detail. After years of never seeing anything useful in EREP, I'm suddenly filling its disk in 10 minutes time with records listed as "FXREC" and CPEREPXA doesn't report any useful information (I may need to bring CPEREPXA up to date...) What is this record type, and why am I suddenly getting millions of them? What is it that needs to be addressed that we need to look at? -- .~. Robert P.
