The URL on IBM clocks someone posted earlier in this thread has very
detailed maintenance docs on how the master clocks function. It's
basically a pulse generator at 2 second intervals, but at a relatively
high voltage and current for modern solid-state control. Not difficult,
but parts will be expensive to control that many solid-state relays and
associated power supplies.
