we have a number of stand alone machines that use DDR to backup critical VM packs. they run disconnected and the console output shows up on OPERATOR. except for one of them - which is the problem.
what causes the console output (from SAY commands in the EXEC) to get routed over to OPERATOR ? i thought the profile exec 'CP SPOOL CONS START TO MAINT' was controlling it, but after reading about the SPOOL command, that just controls where the output winds up. how can i make the SAY command output show up on OPERATOR? the operators need some feed back that the backup is working and notification that the backup is complete. prg Phillip Gramly Systems Programmer Communications Data Group Champaign, IL
