No.  One of the primary differences between System z virtualization and 
other platforms is that z/VM and LPAR give the guest access to the real 
hardware.  It is what it is, and there is no provision in the hardware to 
"trap out" if a guest issues an instruction that exists on the z990, but 
not on the 9672.
