You could make that argument about everything on the z/VM Download page.. We all still get tools from there. OK some companies by policy do not allow downloads then they are out of the picture.. and Some companies are still running VM/ESA 2.3 on a 9121 .. What is support? Basically just an warrantee policy. We all have/had cars that are out of warrantee, but keep driving them.

From IBM's, no. Why? Because, sure a taxes, somebody would ignore the "use at own risk" and put the thing into some production process. Later, IBM changes something and the production process fails. The original person is gone that implemented the process is gone. The person now stuck with it calls IBM and is told "tough toenails". The management of the company is now angry at IBM for not supporting this "business critical" process. Not a good thing from IBM's standpoint. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
