When I installed and customized z/vm 5.3, the only things I changed on the respack were MAINT, TCPMAINT, and AUTOLOG1 stuff. Everything else, like linux instances 191 disks, DISKACNT and ACCSRV 191s, ESAMON's stuff, etc, I put on the 530W01 pack. So, when I installed z/vm 5.4, I just copied 530W01 to a volume named 540W01 using DDR utility. Everything seems fine and I was just wondering if the experts out there would make me feel better by saying that's a good idea or shoot me down by saying that's a terrible idea because...
