Hum, if I had to use a 3420, I'd likely get a SCSI version. Attach that to a FlexCUB controller. Have the FlexCUB emulate a 3490 drive on disk, then later copy the data to the 3420 via a FlexCUB command. Do the reverse to come the other way.
