it was the access r/o that failed 

Explanation: Either the files requested were not on the specified file 
mode. 
or if the file mode represents a minidisk or SFS DIRCONTROL directory that 
 
contains no files or subdirectories and you accessed it R/O, your access  
fails. Therefore, the disk or directory is not accessed. If another 
minidisk 
or SFS directory was already accessed as mode fm, it is released.

I would understand why vmlink says that if I have used filelist option, b
ut
here... Is it not supposed to do a link + a access like shown above ?
