Different people have different styles of presentation. If the above approach works for you, well and good. --- | What you are suggesting is I need to first learn how to assemble a computer | before I can start using it. \-- It is not a question of what is learnt first. But, these are actually essential things to know for budding computer "engineers". --- | (Why not start with micro-electronics & chips? | even better! ;-) \-- It depends on where you want to draw the level of abstraction, who the intended audience are, and what you want to achieve from your presentation. I have actually found people who understand hardware to write better C programs than others. But, that has just been my experience.
