Absolutely! Debian, Yellow Dog, Gentoo, and Ubuntu all have PowerPC versions of their distros, and Intel Macs will happily accept any x86 distro of Linux you can get. A friend of mine runs Debian on an iBook G4 and has most of the hardware working (save for the wireless which required a driver module). Note that Ubuntu no longer ships an official PPC version of their distro, so you'll have to turn to a community sponsored version of Ubuntu for PPC. It's a matter of trying out a distro and seeing which one works for you, but for beginners, I would recommend starting on Ubuntu (think of it as Linux 101), and working up from there. --Rob -- Nobody's ever lost in life...they're merely taking the scenic route. ============================== Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments.
