No. Any USB port, preferably a 2.0 port. If you have an older white  
intel iMac with the older white keyboard, then plug the drive into a  
port on the computer. If you have a new or older intel iMac with the  
new keyboard, you could plug it in there. If it doesn't work, try a  
port on the back. To boot from it, put it in, and hold option while  
booting. If the OS you want to boot shows up, click it. GOod luck!
