Underneath the computer, it opens the access panel.  :)

Inside is access to the RAM, battery and the Airport adapter card 
connector.  IIRC you put the Airport card in the adapter, attach the 
antenna cable which is secured to a post inside the compartment and then 
plug it all into the motherboard.



And it should work out of the box with Debian, at least Lenny.  I 
installed Lenny on a clamshell iBook and then later got an airport card 
for it.  It worked right away when I booted it up.
