It's on page 25 of the publication "Apple Service Source iMac G5, 20-inch, Updated 30 Nov 2006": Optical media ejects to the desktop 1. Try cleaning the disc. If it is dirty or scratched, it may not mount. 2. Try a different disc. 3. Install the microfoam shim (922-7671) on the inside of the front bezel. Refer to Take Apart/Optical Drive/Front Bezel/ or Microfoam Shim sections for complete instructions. Enjoy!
