Your iMac takes an Airport Extreme card, thats all the identification you need. One bit of clarification though, the Extreme cards are a miniPCI card instead os a PCMCIA card. The PCMCIA card ones are the original Airport cards, and they dont actually work in a PCMCIA slot.

Hi All...

I recently bought a first gen G5 iMac and it doesn’t have wireless capability. It will take an Airport Extreme module, but I’m not sure it it needs a specific part number. Snooping about on eBay, it “looks” like there are different models and I don’t want to buy something that won’t fit.

Also, I want to replace the 160GB hard drive. I notice there are different specs on the SATA drives... transfer speeds? Are there any advantages between these drives on the iMac?

Can anyone clarify?

Many thanks in advance!

Amanda
